Apollo Proton Cancer Center is a 150 bedded Super-Specialty hospital in Chennai, India. The hospital was inaugurated in 2019 by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu. With the launch of this hospital, India has become the 16th country world-wide that offers proton therapy for cancer.
The hospital is South Asia’s first proton therapy center. It has been awarded the “2020’s Indian Radiation Oncology Enabling Technology Leadership Award” By Frost & Sullivan Under the Category ‘Transformational Healthcare’ Across the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), India, Asia, and North America.
It is the preferred cancer center globally for Proton Therapy and Cancer Care Management. The hospital offers proton therapy with pencil-beam technology that provides a high degree of precision.
The hospital has an advanced radiation oncology center and provides state-of-the-art medical oncology and immunotherapy facility. It provides effective Proton therapy against many kinds of cancers, including eye and brain, spinal cord or other vital organs, head & neck cancers, deep-seated abdominal and pelvic cancers, recurrent cancers, and pediatric cancers.
It also has the Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy and Image-Guided Radiotherapy component facility. It offers a fully integrated treatment facility that offers advanced surgical, radiation, and medical oncology treatment.
In the first year of operation, the hospital has performed over 200 proton procedures and over 750 surgical procedures on patients across the globe. It has multi-disciplinary Disease Management Groups and personalized organ-specific care plans that ensure the patients feel safe and receive the epitome of personalized oncology care during the cancer treatment.
The hospital is the first dedicated Cancer Center in India to get JCI accreditation.
