It also holds the credit for performing India’s first successful implantation of Heartmate II LVAD and HVAD, a mechanical artificial heart pump, and an Inter-state heart transplant.
In 2019, the hospital performed Arunachal Pradesh’s first-ever successful Heart and Lung Transplant. In August 2019, the hospital successfully implanted the world’s smallest pump – Heartware Ventricular Device (HVAD) on a 14-year girl from Pakistan.
It is the first hospital in India that performed Endobronchial Stenting for a lung transplant. The hospital is the first to perform South Asia’s Successful bilateral lung transplant for a pulmonary hypertension patient.
