Overview

  • Myringotomy is a surgical procedure used for the eardrum or tympanic membrane.

  • The procedure is performed by making a small incision with a Myringotomy knife through the layers of the tympanic membrane.
  • In many cases, a small tube is inserted into the hole in the eardrum, which helps to maintain drainage.
